BODY IMAGE
The most talked about issue of our generation, the past generation and I reckon also the next generation.
It’s time to shed some light on that dilemma that keeps hindering progress through our lives. It all started with the noticing of the body shapes and since they were all different and for some reason our capacity of accepting “different” is very very small, we started putting them in criterias, and even among these we started selecting the elite group the “perfect body shape” or as we prefer to call it “the model” and very rapidly that image was all of us’ aim, we coveted that skinny girl look and soon the clothes market only produced clothes for that girl, and we could have settled with that but something very intolerable also came with that wave
“Body Shaming” and that was the straw that broke our backs as if body shaming and actual bullying wasn’t enough on their own to destroy any person’s self-esteem never mind their dying will of ever wanting to live anymore in such a world, the flaws of system weren’t visible until much later, when the trying to fit the mold wasn’t working and when all the house mirrors were broken we decided to break the mold, there isn’t any reason why any of us can’t be different, can be opposite to the old falling apart from within mold, once we start breaking our own molds we embraced ourselves our shapes no matter how different they came, it all started with us accepting ourselves then we actually stopped looking at how others regarded us because it didn’t matter no more, we didn’t look for their consent on what our weight should be or what are the clothes that hid our curves or undergarments that tortured us for a full breath of air, it all became very clear and once the world started seeing its leaking old mold, the world how slowly it was but it started to adjust it, after all we couldn’t think that everything will be good and shiny in a day, but since we weren’t looking for approval anymore we had all the time the world needed to fix its own broken mirror.
It’s a long road, that we all know but it’s one with big hope of a very happy ending. In the end I would like to clarify that what I advocate is the healthy weight, I don’t advocate obesity in all of its forms because it damage the human body without belief.
